We believe the rock cabins were built in the late 20's or early 30's by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The campground was added some time later. The Cabins were hand built with local stones. they have been renovated several times. We are in the process of restoring them to their original beauty and charm.
We've found that the time frame is not right for the cabins to be built by the CCC. We have heard that the cabins were built by 1 man in the late 20's (around 1928 or 29) for a total wage of $72.00 (a lot of money then?)
